Arrive in Geneva, Switzerland | Transfer to Chamonix
Meet your guides for a welcome dinner and orientation at 6pm in your hotel lobby.

Dômes de Miage
Elevation Gain: 2600ft / Elevation Loss: 4300ft
Estimate Hiking Time: 6.5hrs / 5.6 miles
After a short transfer to the trailhead leading to the Col de Voza (5,500') we enjoy panoramic views of the Mont Blanc range. We continue hiking down to the tumbling Bionnassay Glacier just below the pass, then detour for a scenic lunch at the Chalets de Miage (5,115'). After lunch, a short climb takes us up to Truc (5,942'), then down into the thickly wooded hillside all the way to the charming mountain town of Les Contamines (3,829').

Savoie and Beaufortain
Elevation Gain: 4500ft / Elevation Loss: 3350ft
Estimate Hiking Time: 7 hrs / 8.7 miles
After a short drive to Notre Dame de la Gorge, we hike up the old Roman road to Plan des Dames. We make it up the long ascent to Col du Bonhomme (7,641') and Croix du Bonhomme (8,100') mountain passes. We stop at the latter for lunch. In the afternoon, we follow the trail, downhill and across the grassy hillside to the hamlet of Les Chapieux (5,500'). Along the way we may see some chamois and lots of marmots, not mentioning the beautiful wildflower fields.

Into Italy
Elevation Gain: 2750ft Elevation Loss: 3300ft
Hiking Distance: Approximately 6hrs / 8.1 miles
We transfer to the end of “Vallée des Glaciers,” then hike over Col de la Seigne (8,245') and down into Italy to Lac Combal. During the second half of the afternoon, we hike up the trail to Arp Sup Vieille (7,550')and to Col Checrouit (6,415'), with scenic views in front of the Italian side of Mont Blanc.

Courmayeur
Elevation Gain: 174ft Elevation Loss: 861ft
Hiking Distance: Approximately 2hrs / 1.8 miles
Ride the gondola to Dolonne and walk to Courmayeur. Today is a day to enjoy Italian culture and sightseeing. We ride up the Skyway to Helbronner (11 440ft) on the South face of Mont Blanc. The panorama is outstanding: Gran Paradiso, Monterosa, the Matterhorn .... On the way down we stop at mid-station, Pavillon: it is the home of “Caves du Mont Blanc”, the highest wine cellar where wines from the Aosta valley are kept to age in altitude. Just outside the Botanic garden welcomes visitors for a very gentle walk through a comprehensive alpine flower loop.

Into Switzerland
Elevation Gain: 2850ft / Elevation Loss: 2850ft
Hiking Distance: Approximately 6hrs / 5 miles
After a short transfer into Italian Val Ferret we hike up past the spectacular “Glacier de Pre-de-Bar” to reach Grand Col Ferret (8,300') and enter Switzerland just at the pass; a scenic descent leads to the traditional Swiss village of La Fouly (5,280'), located beneath the Glacier de l'A Neuve. We transfer to Champex for the night.

Switzerland
Elevation Gain: 4150ft / Elevation Loss: 4000ft
Hiking Distance: Approximately 6hrs / 5.6 miles
We hike up to Bovine and experience a very Swiss “cow day”... Down below the pastures the upper Rhone valley reveals its surrounded ranges, with the Wildstrubel and further in the distance the Oberland range. We descend to the Col de la Forclaz, a key passage between the Rhône Valley and the Trient Valley. Overnight in Trient.

Into Chamonix again!
Elevation Gain: 2420ft / Elevation Loss: 2600ft
Hiking Distance: Approximately 6hrs / 3.1 miles
We return to Chamonix over Col de Balme, a.k.a “Smugglers pass”. At the top the view is purely outstanding, the Chamonix Aiguilles rise high above the eponymous valley, while Mont Blanc, crowns up the view magnificently!

Chamonix
Day off to explore Chamonix. Why not take a trip to the world famous Aiguille du Midi (12 604ft) or catch the rack and pin train to Montenvers (6 276ft) to see the Mer de Glace glacier. Wander around the town and absorb the history of the moutaineering capital of the world!

Depart
Bid adieu to your new friends and depart at any time. We recommend booking your flight out of Geneva after 12pm to allow time for a transfer.

Some day hikes can be long and difficult, but you'll only need to carry that day's essentials - water, snacks, camera and extra layers of clothing. Your main luggage will be transported between accommodations each day. This meticulously curated itinerary features simple but historic hotels, delicious culinary experiences, unique wildlife, and the comraderie that comes with sharing a transformative experience with new friends.
